Every parent likes to have good conversation with their child, they love talking to their kids about everything happening in their life and every bit of small and big thing going on in their life. Kids also have a lot to talk about to their parents but usually they have to face this bad luck that parents are often not good at talking to their kids. Some are busy in their jobs and business and some really don’t wish to listen to those childish talks of the kids having a rough day. This lack of talking and listening in life makes kids very stressed in their school life.

They also need to talk to someone in their family or school who is wise enough to give proper suggestions and guidance regarding various issues regarding their academic life and personal life too. Sometimes lack of this facility in life makes kids very introverted and they start to escape talking to anyone then. This situation becomes very dangerous because this makes them get far away from their social life and due to which the learning and gathering of knowledge process of the kids also gets destroyed completely. School managements of most of the schools also keep an eye on such lonely students with the help of the school information management system.

Because the job of the school information management system is to keep all the information of a child and his/her behaviour regarding learning and gathering knowledge. Therefore, school managements are opting for many innovative tools to track the learning of students like attendance management software. Through attendance management software school managements keep a keen eye on the interest level of kids in learning through their attendance. Still after so many efforts by school administrations kids and parents are not able to have a good conversation with each other. So have some tips on how parents can have the best conversation with their kids about their school.

Parent should never ask the kids such questions which can be answered in a single word because this will end the conversation in a jiffy, therefore, parents need to ask questions which are open-ended like how the kid felt spending time with his/her best peer in the school or what was the favourite part of the day spent by the kid in the school. And when the kid starts answering the questions then keep the discussion going on with the follow up questions. Don’t talk to your child about his/her school in a hurry and provide ample amount of time to the conversation so that the kid can share all his/her emotions and feelings going through in the school.

Most importantly parents should listen to the kid carefully because he or she has a lot to share. While conversation removes distractions like TV, cell phones and tablets and should have complete and concentrated eye contact. And even if the phone rings, then let it wait because if any emergency will be there the other person will call again otherwise you can call back. Parents should always have conversation with kids and should avoid missing this conversation session. It is so because it is the prime opportunity for parents to know more and more about their kid’s school, his/her learning and the atmosphere of the school. The best time for such conversations is at the dinner table and usually it is found in many studies that kids open up deeply during bed time when parents tell them bedtime stories, as it is the most comforting time.

These days many schools are making this a regular habit to send the mail to kid’s parents about what they learnt and what their performance was. Parents should read such mail on a necessary basis to understand details about the academic life of their kids. Conversations between kids and parents should not be one way, instead two-way where parents should also share their whole day to their kids and ask their opinions along with some good suggestions which kids can give according to their wisdom.

The best conversation parents can have with their kids about their school is when they spend one-to-one time together. Kids open up more about their school time when they spend time together with their parents like during a walk, cooking together, or watching a movie together etc.
